MS in Telecommunications

This 2-year interdisciplinary degree provides students working knowledge of communications and networking technologies, while emphasizing other aspects of telecommunications, such as economics, business and policy.

The new curriculum is required for your degree. 

ATTENTION Continuing Degree-Seeking ITP Students:

Every three years the ITP curriculum is updated. Beginning in the fall 2009 semester, several changes will be implemented.  The NEW curriculum is an available option to current students in pursuit of an MS or ME. However, you must complete the full requirements of the existing curriculum (36 credits) OR complete the full requirements of the new curriculum (33 credits).  You may not mix and match elements of both.

Prior to enrolling, students must have a passing grade on either the Writing Exam or the Writing Course and have completed the pre-requisites.

Prerequisite for ALL Capstone (non-thesis) option students - must be taken the semester immediately prior to TLEN 5710 enrollment

4-6TLEN 6950, Thesis

For students who are taking the thesis option:

Students must either enroll in 6 Thesis credit hours OR upon the recommendation of their Thesis Advisor, enroll in 4 credit hours of Thesis and 3 credit hours of TLEN 5750

33 credit hoursRegardless of the Capstone or Thesis option, a total of 33 hours are needed to complete degree requirements.
  • Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (Grades below a "C" cannot be counted towards the degree). 
  • Students MUST complete a degree plan during the first semester in the Program.
  • Upon advisor approval, ITP will allow the transfer of course credits from other graduate schools. ITP allows select credit transfers from other Programs, Schools, or Departments within the University of Colorado System.  See Transferring Courses.
