Frank R. Spitznogle
President, Strategic Focus, Inc.
Frank Spitznogle has been a senior operating and professional services executive for the past three decades. He has been instrumental in the formation of a number of new companies and new business entities within existing companies, major business/process change initiatives for a broad spectrum of companies, and in developing the product, product launch and support strategies, as well as operational tactics and processes to drive revenue, product quality, and profit growth in the companies he has supported. His focus has been on the communications, software, and systems integration sectors. He has extensive experience in Asia and Europe. From time-to-time Frank also teaches (International Business, Operations Management, New Product Development, Managing Change and Capstone courses) at the MBA level.
Early in Frank's career he founded and headed the Computer Systems SBU at Texas Instruments. He also managed TI's Corporate Market Analysis function for three years, including administering the global corporate ideation process. This was followed by a period where he was President and Chief Operating Officer of two spinouts from the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at MIT. He then joined U S WEST (now Qwest) where he headed the business assessment effort that led to their advanced data communications services business unit (!nterprise), where he was VP of Markets and Innovation.
In 1991 Frank formed Strategic Focus, Inc., a business management services firm which he continues to operate today. SFI provides change management, business plan, strategic plan, market plan, market management, and product launch support services to his clients, as well as investor due diligence and expert witness services, all with a focus on the communications sector. Customers of SFI have included IBM, Verizon, SBC, BellSouth, Telstra, Globalstar, Newscorp, Disney Mobile, Titan Corporation, Objectspace, Societe Generale, Elsacom, CenturyTel, Terabeam, and more than 30 other clients.
Frank has a PhD in Physics from The University of Texas at Austin and a MBA in Business Management from the University of Dallas.
