Kirk Fanning

Kirk Fanning is an independent consultant in various telecommunications matters, ranging from Voice over IP to wireless deployments. He has worked on a variety of telecommunications projects over the past 15 years on the cutting edge of technology, and has led teams that deployed the first cellular system build-outs, the first ESMR build-outs, the first wireless local loop build-outs and various other projects. He has worked and lived in virtually every major metropolitan city in the USA and has worked on lengthy projects in Frankfurt, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro. Prior to joining the world of telecommunications, Kirk held various positions -- he was an anesthesiologist with a veterinary clinic, he worked in the lending division of a bank, and spent time as a winemaker. Kirk holds an MS in Zoology from the University of California at Davis and an MBA, also from UC Davis.
