Bio
Kevin Hofstra completed his ME - Interdisciplinary Telecommunications studies in May 2005 with a thesis titled "Broadband over Power Line-A regulatory Economic Analysis" under the direction of Dr. Patrick Ryan (Committee Members - Douglas Sicker, Phil Weiser and Dale Hatfield). During his telecommunication studies at CU, Hofstra had a concentration in data networking and helped to develop some of the content for the Telecommunications Laboratory courses. He is also currently enrolled as a CAETE student in the Engineering Management Program and has an expected graduation date of 2008.
Mr. Hofstra currently works as a Network Engineer for the elite Scope EDGE unit of the Air Force Communications Agency (AFCA). Certified as a Cisco CCIE, Hofstra is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing DoD networks worldwide. Hofstra also serves on the Scope EDGE Strike Team and has deployed as a civilian engineer to Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Hofstra currently resides in nearby Littleton, CO with his wife Elizabeth.
Education
In addition to his ME Telecommunications, Kevin Hofstra holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Yale University. He has a number of industry recognized certifications including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco CCNP/CCDP/CCVP/CCSP and holds the coveted title of Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE #14619).
