Bio
Sukumar Dwarkanath currently serves the Technical Director of COMCARE, a national advocacy coalition of 100 member organizations dedicated to advancing emergency response.
Mr. Dwarkanath is responsible for the strategic technical direction of COMCARE with a focus on architecture and standards for information sharing in emergency response communications. He has considerable experience in information exchange and sharing initiatives at the federal, state and local government levels and among the different domains in emergency response. He has co-authored and contributed to numerous national emergency data standards, federal reports, and technical articles on interoperability and information sharing.
Prior to joining COMCARE he served as a Research Assistant to Dale Hatfield, on the Wireless E911 Report, instituted by the Federal Communications Commission. The report included an analysis and review of the issues affecting enhanced wireless E911 deployment in the US. He served as a consultant to Global Locate on the profile for location based services in the Asian markets. In addition, he has considerable experience in various areas of telecommunications and information technology, including current and emerging technologies.
Education
He received a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore University, India.
