Degree plans are designed for students to outline their coursework to meet the requirements for graduation. You should have an approved plan on file with the ITP office by the end of your first semester in ITP. The ITP Student Advisor, Valerie Yates, is responsible for reviewing and approving degree plans.
The Degree Plan serves as confirmation that you understand the course requirements necessary to graduate and also ensures that your chosen plan will be satisfactory in the event that degree requirements change during your time in the Program. Please note that listing a course on the Degree Plan does not guarantee that it will be offered during the particular semester you've listed nor does it guarantee that you will be able to enroll in the course as some courses have limited enrollments, pre-requisites, etc. It is your responsibility to review the course schedules and to follow any requirements for registration, etc. You may choose to take different courses than those listed on your Degree Plan without pre-approval. You only need to submit an updated plan if you are unsure whether course substitutions satisfy the degree requirements or if you want to safeguard your choices against future changes. The approved Degree Plan is a required part of your graduation paperwork.
To complete your degree plan, please complete the one of the Degree Plan forms listed below. Note that the form contains options depending on whether you are fulfilling the new Fall 2009 curriculum or the former curriculum as well as whether you are planning to complete a Capstone or a Thesis. You should delete any credits listed that are not applicable to your situation. You may discuss any questions you have about the degree plan by email or in person by meeting with Ms. Yates during her student advising office hours. No appointment is necessary but it would be helpful if you bring a hard copy of your draft plan. After reviewing your plan and resolving any questions or concerns, you will need to email a draft of the form.
Please save your draft Degree Plan with the following file name "DP Firstname LastName" and send it via email to Valerie Yates. The subject of your email should be "Degree Plan" and the body of your email should include the year you were admitted to ITP and your planned graduation month and year. The approved form will be returned to you via email.

1. ITP MS Degree Plan Form. This form should work for most students. You may delete the default text to replace with electives in the event you have transferred courses that satisfy the requirements or you have obtained a waiver. Please see the notes at the bottom of the form for specific instructions.
2. ITP and EMP Dual Degree Plan Form. This form is for ITP students who have been accepted for a dual degree by EMP. You should obtain approval from EMP (Bonnie Basso) prior to submitting the form to ITP (Valerie Yates).
